Arrival went from being the UK’s biggest overseas float in 2021, when it was valued at £9.5bn, to insolvency. While the company faced a number of issues, its microfactories seem not to have delivered on their promises. A van made in 2022, held up by management as proof the system delivered, appeared to have been largely built by hand.
