Andrew’s decision to do an interview with BBC Newsnight in 2019 was possibly the most foolhardy counter-attack by an English royal since King Harold’s men chased the Normans at the Battle of Hastings. He justified his sojourn at sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan home because it was a “convenient place to stay”. Andrew surely feared spending his 66th birthday alone. How considerate of Thames Valley Police to ensure that didn’t happen. Let’s hope that Andrew found Aylsham police station as “convenient” as the Upper East Side.
